Hans Bruintjes is a researcher specializing in discrimination against neurodivergent people. He has built his expertise by:
- studying law and completing advanced courses in education law, inclusive education, and the Social Support Act and Long-term Care Act;
- taking a course on leadership and impact, with a focus on collaboration and systemic change;
- writing his thesis on the extent to which the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has been implemented in Dutch education laws;
- writing academic articles at Utrecht University regarding the extent to which neurodivergent people can invoke current equal treatment legislation.
In addition to his work at Utrecht University, he also operates independently. His activities include:
- giving presentations on neuro-inclusive education to policy officers at universities and universities of applied sciences;
- delivering presentations to municipal officials on interacting with neurodivergent residents, focusing—among other things—on the availability of relevant knowledge;
- hosting a webinar for confidential counsellors.
He is also the author of the book *The Voice of the Neurodivergent*, which targets various professional groups. The book explains what discrimination is, how to recognize it, and what can be done to address it.
