NeuroVacant's mission is to help neurodivergent people find employment. NeuroVacant does this by actively encouraging employers to provide explanations about the neurodivergent-friendliness of the job, in addition to the job requirements. Employees can use NeuroVacant to more actively search for workplaces that are suitable for them.
NeuroVacant's tools are based on the findings of Hans Bruintjes, a researcher on discrimination against neurodivergent people. He discovered, among other things, that expectations regarding the concepts of inclusion and accessibility are often unclear and difficult to verify. His research also showed that neurodivergents who are open about their neurodivergence when looking for work are less at risk of injustice once they are hired. Therefore, he considers it essential that neurodivergent-friendly workplaces are easier to find and that concrete and verifiable content is given to the concepts of inclusive and accessible. That is why he founded NeuroVacant.
